New York Fashion Week: Deivie S/S 2013 Collection.

New York Fashion Week got off to an early start, with Deivie's S/S 2013 collection inspired by Charles Shyer's 2004 movie version of 'Alfie'. With the collection simply titled Uh-Oh!, designer Christina Mannino's approach to the Youthquake revolution of the 1960's is modern but yet whimsical, eclectic and erratic. Some of the looks comprised of; a cinched waist A-line skirt, sequined shorts paired with a sleek white keyhole front cap sleeve blouse with hook and eye front closure, tea length mini dresses, as well as, a sleeveless blouse with a embroidered gun motif Peter Pan collar, among others. Silhouettes are clean and asymmetrical with color palettes such as orchid smoke, bright chartreuse and dream blue adding an air of dynamism and elegance. The use of fabrics include sequined mesh, cotton sateen, silk double georgette, rayon crepe. I love the inspiration and mood for Mannino's latest collection, her style of 'laid-back but yet luxe, haute elegance' is very creative and a sparkle of her many fashion visions.
