Calypso St. Barth, luxury retailer and designer of women’s fashion, accessories and home goods, will bow at the Shops at Charleston Place on 234 King Street in Charleston, SC this month. Since launching its first store in 1992 in St. Barth, the French West Indies Island that is a popular location for fashionable beach lovers across the world, Calypso St. Barth has evolved with distinct stores in top shopping destination cities including New York, Santa Monica and Miami. The Shops at Charleston Place location is the 33rd Calypso St. Barth store.

Nestled in the heart of the downtown shopping district, the Shops at Charleston Place is a distinctive retail experience offering King Street’s historic architecture as the backdrop while its interior exudes the brand’s low key aesthetic. Known for chic bohemian style with a hint of glamour, the boutique reflects this feeling with vintage wide-‐plank floors, a capiz shell chandelier and a signature pink tile wall.

“Charleston was the natural next home for the brand as the city captures the relaxed and effortless style that our customers seek,” says Calypso’s President Stefanie DiRienzo Smith. “We are lucky to have found such a perfect location on historic King Street.”

Opening at the height of the spring season, the Calypso St. Barth collection offers delicate fabrics with detailed embellishments, painterly prints and feminine florals in easy silhouettes. Colors run the gamut from shades of white and ivory to touches of metallic with punctuations of a signature Calypso pastel palette including pale pinks, corals and blues. The new boutique will offer the brand’s namesake collection of women’s fashion and accessories as well as carefully curated pieces from international designers and a special selection of design collaborations.
