PFW: Balenciaga S/S12 Collection.

Balenciaga has unloaded all kinds of new components to his spring/summer 2012 collection with fabric, structure and accessory.  Jackets are over-sized but yet has a very appealing structure to them perhaps because of the fabric or the way he incorporates color.  The folds/pleats he use in many of his pants waist design is very cool and haute.  The best for me in this collection though is the way he has used over-sized hats to create 'major' drama for his clothes on the runway and I am loving it.

The reviews are in for Lady Gaga's stylist and creative director Nicola Formichetti, for the Thierry Mugler  spring/summer 2012 collection and it's not good.  Check out two of the looks from the collection and  though I love it based on just these two looks, the Washington Post is reporting that it "disappoints."

The Mugler woman, after all, is someone who can wear clothes so masterfully tailored that all of the uneven edges, cutouts and scrappy bits look wildly seductive. The consistent camel and cream and black palette directed the focus entirely to form. But needless to say, this is hardly everyday dressing.
