Prolific accessories designer Rina Shah presents a collection at THE LFW that portrays her love for Polo. Rina started playing the equestrian sport a year ago and simply loves every moment on the ground, atop her horse. The collection titled Rinaldi Polo is as sporty chic & classy, just like the game.
According to Rina " I love horses and always wanted to ride. Last polo season I had gone to watch a game with some friends and fell in love with the sport and since then have been pursuing it. I love challenges and took up this one, this year has been one hell of a ride and i want my collection to reflect the fun & glamour around Polo".
Rina who's eaccessories have in the recent past been carried by Natalie Portman, Pamela Anderson and even Goldie Hawn and Naomi Campbell, travelled to Santa Barbara to learn and train for this ongoing Polo season.
"Being so passionate about the sport and being with horses everyday of my life, I thought it would be great to do a line thats comes from the heart", adds Rina
Using her signature style of embellishments with crystals and coloured stones Rina has created a glamorous line with equestrian prints, polo prints on large bags with bamboo handles . The theme is brought to life with saddle bags with trimmings, reins handles on oversize bags, spur straps with crystals and feathers and even a sexy collection of belts with horses as buckles.
There more too................ Sexy thigh high boots with feathers beaded spur straps, satchel bags with all chain & crystals and a comboy themed collection too that scorched the runway with its attitude and glam style.
Rinaldi Polo at LFW also saw three Polo players Kamran Ahmed, Shrinivas Bobade and Angad Kalan walk the ramp with models as showstoppers on 15th March 2011.
This is a very chic line for those who like to carry a sporty yet sexy attitude. Polo players themselves could make a style statement dressed in Rina's gear, off the grounds!! "I'd love to dress the other players and am sure with this collection, that will happen for sure. Polo is slowly but surely becoming a lifestyle statement in Mumbai too".
This equestrian collection can be worn as statement making pieces to social and sporty gatherings.
Rina will very much be a part of the forthcoming Polo seasons in Mumbai and will also be touring London, Bangkok and Santa Barbara to train further.
Rina has been in the business of design since the past 18 years and was the first to launch a Designer Accesories label in India. Since then her label has been housed by stores not only in India but also in New York, Hongkong, Dubai and London.
