Check out the creations of the Acquastudio Parade S/S 2012 collection at Rio Fashion Week. The dresses are stunning with the layered geometric waist, shoulder and frontal panels.  The colors too are very soothing with its almost perfectly blended tones and linear appeal.

Call it crowd favorite or simply hard work but in the end Hines Ward and Kym Johnson won season 12 of 'Dancing With The Stars.'  Hines as a winner, probably came as a surprise when we go back to the beginning but by mid-season we saw that he probably had the discipline to win. If 'judgement day' was May 21st then let today May 23rd be pronounced 'Born This Way' day, as the much hyped Lady Gaga album is released. The mania has already begun, with her appearance at today's album signing at Best Buy in NYC, and her appearance on last Saturday's SNL finale.  She has taken the social media world by storm as well, appearing on Facebook's Farmville Gagaville and has teamed up with Starbucks for a scavenger hunt called SCRH.  As if that's not enough, she also has her own ad for Google Chrome.  Gaga is ready for the world, is the world ready for Gaga? Lil Wayne's sweater with an imprint of famed 1920's Hollywood legend Bette Davis, had fans and fashion tweets in a frenzy when he performed with Mary J. Blige at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards.  Though some fans knew who it was, others wondered who the mysterious gal was, guessing names such as Madonna to Lady Gaga.  Of course a Bette Davis fan like myself, who owns her movie collection, spotted the legend right away. Bette Davis has starred, won Oscars and is legendary for movies such as "All About Eve" and "Jezebel."  Hey Lil Wayne, you are a True Fashionista Now.

Fersani S/S 2011 Collection at MALTA FASHION WEEK.

The royal wedding may be over but the Fersani S/S 2011 Collection at the just concluded Malta Fashion Week reminded fashionistas of the allure of  hats and headpieces. The runway was awash with vibrant colors of pastel blue and lavender, and gowns cascaded with glittering silver organza finishing but a hat was what defined the style of this collection.  Hats and head-dresses as an accessory, has been making a comeback on the runway with the Venexiana F/W 2011 collection using a Swarovski jeweled headpiece on one of their model, during New York fashion week. Lady Gaga is also a huge fan of hats, often sporting extravagant looks, inspired from a lobster to a piece of meat. We love the Fersani S/S 2011 collection with its fabulous floral inspired hats and vertical suspended buds or feathers that dance with the models on the runway.

Abercrombie & Fitch is making their presence known internationally with their new flagship store opening on the famous Champs-Elysees in Paris.  Now tourists have another fashion destination on the famous strip. Check out the scene with the 101 shirtless male models for the store opening.

MALTA FASHION WEEK 2011 - Up & Coming Designers Who Dare.

Fashion week has always been the platform to showcase new designers and here are a few looks from Malta's Fashion Week current 2011 shows. Recycling awareness and fabric innovation, integrated into their design is something very pleasing to see.  Also a balance of having fun with creativity such as the multi colored train and ready to wear, such as the bodice dress with yellow vertical front panels as a reality, is sexy. Aga Pou F/W 2011-12 at Poland Fashion Week.

I love the color palette and silhouette of Polish designer Aga Pou's F/W 2011-12 collection that just debut at Poland Fashion Week 2011.  Each piece is very reminiscent of a national costume but yet wearable in a modern way.  The broad border finishing and the symmetrical patterns on some of the skirts, jackets and clutch purse are also striking. I also love the flowing over layering of how it is styled and the corseted cord motif on the jackets and dresses.
